The Art of Talya D.
Last year I decided to join a few Facebook groups for an artist who use a pencil as their medium. People who could take a pencil, a blank piece of paper and out of nothing create beautiful images have always fascinated me. I especially enjoy looking at portraits. This is a craft that although I have tried and enjoyed doing so, I have not, nor do I ever see myself mastering it. The further I try to run away from photography the more obvious it becomes, I need to have my canon hanging around my neck to be happy and that’s all there is to it.
Around October of last year, I had the privilege of meeting a very talented artist by the name of Talya. She has done amazing works with every medium I have known her to try, but what she known best for is her graphite portraits. I have watched her skills Improve with every illustration she has done. It is now at the point that the faces of the people she draws jump right off of the paper!
Not only are her images incredible with the amount of love and care she puts into each and every project, she also chooses the most fascinating subjects to draw. She has worked on many well-known faces such as Greta Garbo, Amy Winehouse and even the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet just to name a few.
Just recently, I was lucky enough to have her draw a visual rendering of myself. She chose a great portrait from back in my modeling days, taken by the well-known and also very talented photographer T.h. Taylor who is from Milwaukee Wisconsin.
I love this drawing so much that it is now my main image on all of my social media accounts. This drawing is a possession I will cherish forever.
I just wanted to jot down a quick blog to thank my dear friend Talya for using me as a muse for one of her sensational creations and for being such a great friend <3
I heard through the grapevine that she might be selling signed limited edition prints of some of her drawings.
If you are an art collector like myself, I am sure you will want to grab a portrait or three while they are still available!
Collector or not, be sure to show her some love when you visit her page and hit the like button while you are there. You will be glad you did!
Thanks for tuning in
Until next time…
